JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

SAFETY SPECIALIST FAMILY - CORE

  • Coordinates and implements the field safety program for routine construction projects.
  • Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Conducts safety audits on assigned projects by identifying, documenting, and recommending abatement of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions to internal and external clients. Utilizes internal safety management systems to document findings and track abatement techniques and closure.
  • Conducts project-specific new hire orientation and oversees drug and alcohol policy compliance.
  • Monitors the implementation of prime contractor and/or subcontractors' safety programs.
  • Attends project pre-planning, progress, and other relevant meetings to discuss safety-related matters.
  • Supports field leadership in the implementation of the safety program specifics, such as meetings, committees, and related activities, as well as chairing the project safety committee.
  • Assists in the investigation of project-related accidents, conferring with supervisors to determine root causes and discussing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Coordinates with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return to work, compiling injury progress reports.
  • Monitors site safety incentive program.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

SAFETY SPECIALIST 2

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

  • Possessing a higher level of safety knowledge to identify complex safety issues and provide advanced abatement solutions.
  • Applying extensive knowledge of equipment, laws, and work processes to project-specific safety recommendations.
  • Contributing strong communication skills and playing an active role in meetings.
  • Utilizing safety management systems and tools for trend analysis and safety trend identification, providing solutions to mitigate future issues.
  • Providing guidance and training on safety topics for team members.
  • Assisting during insurance audits.
  • Overseeing more complex projects or multiple projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to enforce them.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Proficiency in construction technology.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a safety and health-related field (preferred).
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience required.
