Job description

Job Summary

The Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring workplace safety by working with the Director of HR and Safety, and developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Success Criteria & Measurement

  • Understand all aspects of safety in manufacturing
  • Maintain all safety data in an organized manner
  • Deliver all required annual training courses in a timely manner to employees, in house and out in the field
  • Must have knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Willing to travel out of state

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace.
  • Determine a calendar year for scheduled training and conduct training sessions for employees.
  • Help enforce policies to establish a culture of safety.
  • Interact with management, employees, and customers out in the field in a professional and positive manner
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations through inspections. Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for ISI employees and customers

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a Safety role
  • Strong Knowledge of manufacturing safety experience
  • Certified in OSHA 30 required
  • First Aid/CPR Certified
  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field preferred.
  • Possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Must have experience in Fall Protection, Steel Erection, Fire Safety
