Job summary

VIP Staffing is hiring a Safety Specialist to champion safety and environmental health standards across manufacturing operations. The role is located on the south side of San Antonio, with a work schedule Monday to Friday from 6am to 6pm.

Pay is up to $20/hour, and duties include promoting SOP adherence, incident investigation, safety training, and leading safety meetings on both the production floor and in the office.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a safety role.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification preferred; forklift knowledge required.
• Proficient with computers, scanners, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are followed daily.
• Support investigations when incidents occur and Cority reporting of incidents.
• Complete and maintain safety reports: OSHA logs, KPI's, OHSMS weekly.
• Provide safety training and new hire orientation to forklift operators and recertification as required.
• Investigate incidents, propose counter measures, and verify results.
• Lead monthly safety committee and small group meetings.
• Communicate and schedule weekly safety meetings with management and review safety concerns.
• Document and compile safety data trends for injuries, incidents, and processes for evaluations.
• Work closely with Senior Safety Manager and Corporate Safety group to follow OHSMS and implement elements into daily processes and programs.

Schedule Mon - Fri 6am-6pm.

Duties:
