Job summary

Satterfield & Pontikes Construction is seeking a Safety Specialist to support safety programs across multiple job sites in Texas. You will conduct audits, lead incident investigations, and mentor field personnel on hazard identification and best practices.

This role emphasizes regulatory compliance, training delivery, and coordination with project teams to reduce injuries. You will provide technical guidance to project managers and superintendents and help implement continuous safety

Qualifications

• Experience conducting safety audits across multiple job sites.
• Ability to lead incident investigations and OSHA compliance.
• Knowledge of 1926 safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Audit the company’s safety policies and programs.
• Review compliance with policies and procedures at job sites.
• Conduct walkthrough inspections at project sites with project personnel.
• Assist in the Coordination of insurance and employee medical treatment. Manage workers’ compensation programs and coordinate insurance claims.
• Communicate lessons learned from near misses, accidents, and incidents.
• Conduct safety training for employees.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and superintendents.
• Recommend modifications to policies and procedures to reduce incidents.
• Conduct reviews of sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and other standards.
• Monitor subcontractor’s safety performance.
• Assist in presentations to employees and subcontractors for safety meetings.
• Assist in tracking near misses and injuries.
• Foster a culture of safety in collaboration with leadership.

Satterfield & Pontikes is looking to add a Safety Specialist to the team! In this role you will provide experienced-level support in the development, implementation, and oversight of safety programs across multiple job sites. Conduct thorough site audits, facilitate training, lead incident investigations, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards. Serve as a resource to project teams, mentoring field personnel on hazard identification, corrective actions, and best practices.

• Assist in the Coordination of insurance and employee medical treatment. Manage workers’ compensation programs and coordinate insurance claims.

• Conduct safety training for employees.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and superintendents.
• Recommend modifications to policies and procedures as needed to reduce the occurrence of these events.
• Conduct reviews of sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agency standards and company policies.
• Monitor subcontractor’s safety performance.
• Assist in the presentations to employees and subcontractors for safety-related meetings and presentations.
• Assist in the tracking and trend of near misses, first aid injuries, incidents, accidents, and recordable injuries.
• Foster a culture of safety by supporting best practices and regulatory requirements at the state, federal, and local levels, as well as contractual obligations in collaboration with S\&P operational leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification is strongly preferred.
