Job description

Chesapeake Search Partners is working with a reputable, self‑performing general contractor in the Baltimore region that’s looking to hire a Safety Specialist to lead day‑to‑day safety efforts across its projects. This person will take ownership of the company’s safety program in the field, driving compliance, training, and engagement while working closely with project teams and leadership to strengthen the overall safety culture.

This is a hands‑on role with visibility across all projects, offering the opportunity to shape and influence safety practices while being directly involved in field operations. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead by example on‑site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead safety efforts across multiple active projects while ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety meetings with project teams and subcontractors
  • Oversee training programs, orientations, and certifications while maintaining OSHA logs and required reporting
  • Support and promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with the COO, Superintendents, and Project Managers to identify and resolve safety challenges in real time
