Job summary

Continuum of Care in New Haven, CT is seeking a Safety Monitor for the 1st shift. You will monitor the facility, screen entrants, conduct bag checks, and respond to emergencies with a calm, professional approach.

A valid CT driver’s license and First Aid/CPR certification are required. The role involves de-escalation, keeping logs up to date, coordinating with police and first responders, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and program policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred; HS diploma with relevant experience acceptable.
• Experience working with homeless individuals with mental illness, developmental disability, or addiction.
• Valid CT driver’s license with clean driving record; willingness to transport clients.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor lobby and screen entry of individuals.
• Wands individuals returning to program; check bags.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with responders.
• Maintain safety logs and incident reports.
• Uphold HIPAA regulations and secure releases of information.
