Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking a capable security officer to perform grounds and facility inspections, document results, and respond to emergencies at our Bangor, ME center. The role includes reporting fires, de-escalating incidents, and maintaining accurate logs of personnel and visitors.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, 1 year of security or law enforcement experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to obtain any required endorsements.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required or equivalent.
• 1 year security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• CDL with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make physical inspections and security checks of grounds and facility and document results.
• Reports fires and assists in suppressing fires.
• Investigates incidents and provides clear, accurate reports.
• Performs First-Aid and CPR as needed.
• Controls disturbances and assists staff in de-escalating volatile situations.
• Performs routine vehicle inspections on GSA fleet.
• Completes required security, vehicle and transportation logs, documentation, and records accurately and on time.
• Accurately logs and searches employees, visitors, vendors and students as they enter and exit the center.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Controls disturbances and assists staff in de-escalating volatile situations
• Performs routine vehicle inspections on General Services Administration fleet
• Completes required security, vehicle and transportation logs, documentation, and records accurately and on time
• Accurately logs and searches employees, visitors, vendors and students as they enter and exit the center
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• One-year security or law enforcement experience, or successful military experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record
• Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements is preferred
