Job summary

Birnam Wood Golf Club is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to protect members, guests and staff. You will patrol the property, monitor CCTV, enforce rules, respond to alarms, and coordinate with emergency services as needed.

Responsibilities include controlling access, inspecting bags and containers, logging incidents, and maintaining safety in all clubhouse and parking areas. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable; a valid driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a related security role preferred.
• Must be alert during overnight shifts and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Patrol club facilities to protect members, guests, employees and assets.
• Observe and enforce safety rules and policies.
• Inspect parcels and bags of employees entering/leaving the property.
• Monitor the security camera system and respond to alarms.
• Administer CPR and First Aid if necessary.
• Maintain accurate logs of security staff activities.
• Handle access control and temperature monitoring in relevant areas.
• Coordinate with Security Management during disturbances.

Security OfficerClassification: Non-exemptEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School education or equivalent preferred.Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and ExpectationsExperience in a related job preferred.Must be able to remain alert throughout overnight shifts.Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role during emergency situations.Job Summary (Essential Functions)Responsible for general security and fire prevention on club property. Patrol club facilities and property to ensure the safety of members, guests, employees, and the club’s assets, including property. Makes timely written and oral reports, as required. Observes and enforces club safety rules and policies.Job Tasks/DutiesObserves all persons entering and leaving the building and remains alert for internal theft, suspicious persons, and/or vehicles.Inspects all parcels, handbags, boxes, or other containers carried by employees to and from work.Ensures that employees do not leave the premises with uniform, flowers, food, beverages or unauthorized club property following established policies.Enforces all employee-related rules and regulations of the club.Answers night connection telephone and assists as required.Monitors the security camera system.Responds to emergency, fire alarms, and break-in alarms and contacts 911 and Security Management in the event of a disturbance.Administers CPR and First Aid, if necessary.Patrols parking lots; prevents unauthorized vehicles and people from using the parking lots.Notes any deficiencies in the club’s security measures.Maintains an accurate log of all security staff activities.Conducts intermittent inspections of the clubhouse, grounds, and all other club facilities and areas.Assures that all internal and external doors are locked according to the club’s policies.Is familiar with emergency 911 notification procedures.Monitors and logs temperatures of walk-in coolers and refrigerated storage areas in the kitchen.Monitors energy controls in the Engineers’ equipment room.Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Assistant Director of Security.Licenses and Special RequirementsCertification in Basic CPR, AED and First Aid.21 years of age or older.Valid driver’s license.Valid Guard Card or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentFrequent exposure to hot, sunny, humid, cold or rainy conditions.Working conditions are often slippery and wet.May work in nighttime conditions.Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position.Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.Frequent repetitive motions.Continuous standing and walking.Shift: Days, M-F, Full-time, temporaryBirnam Wood Golf Club is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
