Job summary

Romark Logistics in Irving, TX seeks a Safety & Security Manager to lead our safety and security programs across 10+ sites in the Northeast and South-Central regions. The role is strategic and hands-on, requiring a strong presence on the warehouse floor and travel around 75% of the time.

You will build scalable programs, ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, DOT), conduct audits, lead investigations, and partner with site champions to drive accountability.

Job description

This Safety & Security Manager is both strategic and hands-on and will lead and elevate our company’s safety and security programs across 10+ locations spanning the Northeast and South-Central regions. Traveling 75% of the time, you will ensure compliance, build best-in-class practices, and drive consistent execution at all locations. The right candidate will have expertise in warehouse safety, an ability to build out scalable programs, and the flexibility to oversee outsourced services when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Safety

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies, programs, and procedures across all sites.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and follow-ups to ensure corrective actions are taken and sustained.
• Partner with site-level champions or committee members to drive accountability and ownership.
• Develop and deliver train-the-trainer and training programs on safety awareness, equipment use, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Establish metrics and reporting systems to track safety performance and progress.
• Conduct facility audits, inspections, and risk assessments and personally follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed and sustained.
• Support internal, client, insurance, and regulatory audits and drive corrective action plans through closure.
• Maintain effective programs covering powered industrial trucks, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, walking-working surfaces, PPE, emergency procedures, and other warehouse-related hazards.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for safety and security across the company; .
• Act as a subject matter expert and partner to operations leadership while maintaining a strong hands-on presence in warehouse operations.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve practical safety policies, programs, and procedures across all locations.
• Maintain a strong presence in warehouse operations, regularly conducting floor observations, inspections, employee engagement, and hands-on coaching.
• Build a culture of safety by engaging employees at all levels and recognizing contributions.
• Lead, facilitate and influence safety committees and empower site-level champions.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to leadership on safety investments, improvements, and best practices.

Security

• Evaluate and maintain site-level security protocols and response plans.
• Coordinate with outsourced providers as needed to monitor and assess risks to the facility, and support life safety systems (fire, alarms, access control, cameras, etc.) and ensure they are regularly tested and functional.
• Support facilities with preventative measures and corrective actions to maintain secure operations.
