Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Center in Chicago seeks a Safety Associate to maintain a safe, secure environment for members, guests and staff under the Facilities Service Manager’s supervision. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

You will enforce policies, respond to emergencies and help create a welcoming, safe campus aligned with the Center’s mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic understanding of safety and security.
• Customer service experience.
• Familiarity with safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all Salvation Army/Ray & Joan Kroc Center policies and procedures.
• Always remain alert and vigilant.
• Follow safety guidelines to ensure all staff and guests are safe.
• Interact with staff, members and guests in a positive professional manner.
• Greet all guests and patrons as they enter the building.
• Report on any safety concerns that arise to the Facilities Service Manager.
• Monitors, secures, and restricts building ingress and egress as needed.
• Perform safety checks, participate in drills and respond to emergencies as they arise.
• Perform wanding or operate metal detectors as needed.
