Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc is launching a Safety Rotational Associate 2026 program. This 12-month opportunity is designed to explore diverse safety functions within the paper and packaging industry, building core competencies and leadership skills.

You will complete field assignments, participate in safety audits and training, and engage with safety and health teams across multiple facilities. Rotations can occur anywhere in the United States, with potential for full-time placement after completion.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental or engineering
• Previous intern, co-op or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safety support to various departments and teams
• Participate in hands-on safety and health practices training
• Complete two field assignments involving safety audits, surveys, process safety applications, training programs, outages and meetings
• Gain exposure to subject matter experts and leaders across Smurfit Westrock’s manufacturing facilities
• Rotations are selected based on business needs and can be anywhere within the United States
• Upon program completion, opportunities may exist for full-time safety and health roles

Opportunity summary: Asa Safety Associate, youare responsible forworking with teams and providing safety support for various departments of the organization. The12-monthprogramisdesigned to explore different safety functions and systems while learning aspects of the paper and packaging industry.

• Complete an unprecedented skill-building opportunity which prepares its participants for a career in safety and health at Smurfit Westrock
• Receive hands-on training and practical application of safety and health practices at Smurfit Westrock, along with exposure to business and manufacturing processes
• Complete two field assignments where individual will continue to engage with the Safety and Health team on scheduled off-site Safety Audits, Surveys, Process Safety applications, training programs, seasonal outages,meetings, and other opportunities in different businesses and geographical areas
• May be offered an opportunity to gain exposure to subject matter experts as well as key leaders in our manufacturing facilities located across the country.
• Rotations are selected based on business need and can be anywhere within the United States
• Upon successful completion of the Program, participants may move into a full-time position and continue their career as a safety and health professional

What you need to succeed:

Education:

• Required: Pursuing bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, Environmental or Engineering OR pursuing abachelor's degree in occupational safety & health, Environmental or Engineering
• Required: Previous intern, co-op or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Ability to relocate per program requirements
