The Safety, Security, and Facilities Office strives to ensure cohesive and effective prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities across the MDOT enterprise, implementing an all-hazards approach in Emergency Management to address both natural and man-made threats. Additionally, protecting employees through risk management and implementing safety measures are also components of this position.

Preferred Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Safety/Risk Management, Homeland Security, Emergency Operations, or a related field.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in emergency management and managing a safety/risk management program (preferably in a transportation environment). Two (2) years of experience coordinating and delivering safety training courses.

Maryland Emergency Vehicle Operation Certification Federal Security Clearance if deemed appropriate.
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
MDOT Maryland Port Administration (MPA) badge for Port of Baltimore access MAA/BWI Security/ Access Badge
Completion of the following National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses:
