Job summary

Amentum is recruiting a Safety & Risk Consultant to join our team, with roles aligned by qualifications and experience. The team focuses on independent safety assessment using DBA, PSA and SAA across defence and civil nuclear safety cases.

We seek candidates with safety case experience to complement the IA&R function. The role supports independent assurance and regulation across regulated industries, offering flexibility in working patterns and locations.

Qualifications

• Degree (Level 6) in Science or Engineering; professional membership desirable.
• Clear and concise technical writing skills.
• Effective communication with experts from other disciplines.
• Knowledge of safety case techniques: DBA, PSA, SAA.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking INSA and ITA of safety case documents to provide balanced and proportionate advice.
• Engaging with customer safety case specialists to inform INSA/ITA.
• Presenting the S&RM team’s view at internal and customer meetings.
• Helping to produce and/or advising customers on the adequacy of their safety management arrangements.
• Production and delivery of safety case training courses.
• Interfacing specialists from other technical disciplines to understand the safety case.
• Working in accordance with health, safety, environment, security and quality requirements and seek continuous improvements.
