Job summary

Holder Construction is seeking a Safety Engineer to join our Safety team on a Virginia project. This full-time, in-person role advances office-level safety leadership across multiple active projects, building on foundational site safety experience.

You will own safety meetings, ensure subcontractor safety deliverables, and promote Holder Construction’s safety program across project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management/EHS or 3+ years of safety experience.
• Knowledge of construction industry practices, codes, and safety standards.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead project-level safety coordination and primary office contact.
• Review subcontractors' safety plans, JHAs, and crane plans.
• Lead safety meetings and worker feedback sessions.
• Coordinate onsite safety training and incentive programs.
• Conduct accident investigations and support ELTs.
• Track safety metrics, observations, incidents, and lessons learned.
• Review crane plans and assist with lift planning campus-wide safety events.
• Provide office support to Holder field safety professionals.
