Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional registration or licensure (EI/EIT or PE) preferred.
• Experience with safety management systems, hazard analysis, and safety programs.
• Ability to interpret DOE safety requirements and apply to national lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an expert technical advisor to senior DOE leadership and stakeholders by identifying safety risks and trends, interpreting policies, and developing risk-informed recommendations.
• Independently assess and evaluate Brookhaven National Laboratory safety performance across construction, electrical, and other high-hazard operations.
• Evaluate hazard analyses, work controls, permits, and training qualifications for safety compliance.
• Contribute to safety policy communities of practice and evaluate corrective actions for organizational learning.
