Job summary

Boots to Boardroom Recruiting, LLC seeks an experienced Safety Program Specialist to support major construction projects through high-level independent safety observation, assessment, documentation, and verification. This is a travel-based role with Track A assignments.

You will maintain a strong field presence, observe safety program implementation, document findings, and escalate significant issues through the client and B2BR leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field with 3+ years of construction safety management.
  • Or CSP/CIH/ASP/CHST/CRSP with 5+ years of construction safety management.
  • Strong observational and reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong field presence on assigned construction projects.
  • Conduct independent safety observations, assessments, inspections, and verification activities.
  • Observe implementation of project safety programs, policies, procedures, and hazard controls.
  • Evaluate field activities for OSHA alignment and client/owner expectations.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, document observations, and escalate significant issues.

Safety Program Specialist | Track A

Full-Time W2 | Traveling Independent Observation | Construction Safety

Position Overview

Boots to Boardroom Recruiting, LLC (B2BR) is seeking an experienced Safety Program Specialist to support major

construction projects through high-level independent safety observation, assessment, documentation, and verification.

Travel & Schedule

This is a travel-based position. Track A personnel typically travel to the assigned client site on Monday, work on site

Tuesday through Thursday, and travel home Friday.

Track A operates on a standard rotation of three (3) weeks traveling / on assignment followed by one (1) week of

asynchronous home-based work for documentation catch-up, recovery, administrative responsibilities, training, and other

non-travel work. Project locations may change based on client needs and company assignments.

Track A personnel serve in an independent observation and verification capacity. The Specialist maintains a strong field

presence, observes safety program implementation and field activities, documents findings, prompts appropriate client

personnel when warranted and escalates significant issues through the B2BR chain of command. Observations and reports

may be reviewed by Safety Directors, Vice Presidents, project executives, and other senior leadership.

Track A personnel do not direct the client’s means and methods of work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary of $95,000–$130,000, based on qualifications, certifications, assignment, and relevant field experience

  • Full-time W2 employment

  • Four weeks of PTO

  • One week of sick leave annually

  • Medical, dental, and vision: B2BR pays 100% of the employee premium and 50% of dependent premiums

  • Company-paid required PPE and safety equipment

  • Company-paid approved BCSP, OSHA, and other applicable safety certifications

  • Approved business travel and project expenses handled in accordance with company policy
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong, consistent field presence on assigned construction projects

  • Conduct independent safety observations, assessments, inspections, and verification activities

  • Observe implementation of project safety programs, policies, procedures, and hazard controls

  • Evaluate field activities for alignment with OSHA requirements, client standards, owner expectations, and recognized

safety practices


  • Arrive early enough to observe General Contractor morning startup, including pre-task planning, crew coordination, and

initial hazard controls


  • Identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, emerging risks, program deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement

  • Document observations clearly, objectively, accurately, and professionally

  • Prepare safety reports, findings, trends, and recommendations for leadership

  • Communicate observations to appropriate client and project representatives

  • Prompt the client team when conditions warrant further attention

  • Escalate significant safety concerns through the B2BR chain of command

  • Observe and document contractor and subcontractor safety performance

  • Review safety documentation and field implementation for consistency and effectiveness

  • Participate in incident, injury, near-miss, and significant-event reviews as an observer, as appropriate to the assignment

  • Identify recurring trends and systemic safety concerns

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client information, project operations, and safety data

  • Build professional working relationships with project management, field leadership, contractors, and executive

Leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a closely related field, plus a minimum of

three (3) years of full-time construction safety management experience;

---OR---

  • A current nationally recognized board-certified safety credential such as CSP, CIH, ASP, CHST, CRSP, or another

approved equivalent, plus a minimum of five (5) years of full-time construction safety management experience
