Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Safety Program Manager to lead the Safety Program for the Energy division in Spokane, WA. You will oversee the safety program, safety professionals, and specific safety initiatives for project sites, ensuring enterprise compliance.

Responsibilities include developing annual safety plans, setting training expectations, auditing safety performance, and verifying subcontractor adherence to OSHA standards. Strong emphasis on leadership and field support, with daily site visits.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience with emphasis on construction and/or industrial safety.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety or related field preferred.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual Safety Business plans with Business Units.
  • Set Safety Training expectations for assigned units.
  • Monitor safety performance via audits and incident investigations.
  • Develop site-specific safety plans and apply McKinstry Safety Programs to projects.
  • Verify subcontractors follow OSHA standards.
  • Assist field teams and safety specialists as needed.
  • Occasionally assist with superintendent duties and preconstruction activities.
  • Conduct daily site visits and safety stand-downs when requested.

The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking aSafety Program Managertojoin our team as a member of our growing Energy division inSpokane, WA.In this role, the Safety Program Manager will manage the McKinstry Safety Program andassignedsafety professionals at the business unit level. You will also managesubjectspecific safety programs and associateddateto ensure enterprise compliance. Other responsibilities include:

Leadership Management
  • Assists Business Units in the Development of annual Safety Businessplans.
  • Sets Safety Training expectations for assigned Business Units.
  • Monitor andreporton safety performance through auditing and incident investigations.
Project/Field Support
  • Assistsproject teams with adherence to safety and loss control policies.
  • Develop site-specific safety plans, whichappliesMcKinstry Safety Programs to the unique planning considerations for the project.
  • Execution of the site-specific safety plans.
  • Assistproject teams with any lessons learned or safety program feedback by informing the responsible safety program manager.
  • Verifies that subcontractors are conducting work activities per OSHA standards.
  • Assist Field and Safety Program Specialists asappropriate.
  • Periodicallyassistwith superintendent duties when assigned.
  • Daily Site Visits
  • When requested, help with preconstructionactivitiesto access safety risks
  • Assistproject teams with facilitating safety stand downs in the field
What you need to succeed at McKinstry:
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio)required.
  • Understanding ofapplicable federal, state, and local safety regulationsrequired.
  • Five (5) years of experience with emphasis on construction and/or industrial safetyrequired.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safetyor related field preferred.
  • Experience in Safety Managementrequired.
  • Working knowledge of SharePointand Power BIpreferred.

Tthe pay range for this positionis $72,090 - $107,370per year; however,basepay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits,dependenton the position offered.
