Job summary

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, seeks a Safety Professional for a short-term regional assignment based in Auburn, MA, supporting Western Massachusetts projects. Field-based role focusing on identifying hazards and enforcing safe work practices across underground utility installation and maintenance sites.

You will work with crews and site leadership, conduct field audits, review training, and help implement site-specific safety plans.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant safety experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel, management, contractors, and clients.
• Ability and willingness to travel between project locations throughout the assigned region.
• Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based applications.

Safety Professional - Short-Term Project

Location: Auburn, MA - Regional Role Covering Western Massachusetts
Pay: $50.00/hour (W2)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Approximately 1-3 months
Schedule: Approximately 40-50 hours/week
Project: Underground Utility Installation & Maintenance
Per Diem: Not Available - Local Candidates Only

Medcor Safety, a subsidiary of Medcor, is seeking an experienced Safety Professional for a short-term regional assignment based out of Auburn, MA and supporting projects throughout Western Massachusetts.

This position will support crews performing underground utility installation and maintenance across multiple project locations. The Safety Professional will spend significant time in the field working directly with crews and site leadership to identify hazards, reinforce safe work practices, and help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, client, and site-specific safety requirements.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced construction or utility safety professional who enjoys a hands-on, field-based role and is available to start quickly.

What You’ll Do

Build positive, professional relationships with field personnel, management, contractors, and outside agencies.

Conduct regular field and crew safety audits across multiple project locations.

Identify unsafe work conditions and practices and work with crews and leadership to implement corrective actions.

Recognize and reinforce safe work practices throughout the project.

Document and communicate site audit findings and safety observations.

Review and audit training records for field personnel.

Help implement applicable federal, state, local, client, and site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures.

Review and participate in the development of accident briefs, safety publications, bulletins, and reports.

Assist with the development and implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans.

Participate in project kickoff meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety-related meetings.

Review client and owner safety requirements and help ensure project compliance.

Travel between project locations throughout the assigned Western Massachusetts region as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Current CPR/First Aid certification

Minimum of 3 years of relevant safety experience

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively with field personnel, management, contractors, and clients

Ability and willingness to travel between project locations throughout the assigned region

Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based applications

Preferred:

CHST certification

OSHA 500 certification

Previous utility, underground construction, or related infrastructure safety experience

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, and working on or around active construction sites. The Safety Professional must be able to communicate effectively, maintain appropriate visual awareness of the worksite, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
