Job summary

Medcor Safety in Porterville, CA is seeking an experienced Safety Professional to support a new construction project. This full-time, project-based role lasts approximately 8–9 months, with a Monday–Friday schedule and about 40 hours per week, potential overtime.

You will identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and ensure OSHA compliance on site. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30, and CPR/First Aid certification; CHST/OSHA 500 are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop positive, professional relationships with field personnel, management, contractors, and outside agencies throughout all phases of the project.
• Conduct regular safety audits and jobsite observations to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
• Recognize and reinforce safe work practices among field crews.
• Document findings from site inspections and communicate corrective actions to appropriate project personnel.
• Review and audit employee safety training records.
• Support implementation and compliance with federal, state, local, client, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Review and assist with accident reports, safety bulletins, publications, and other safety-related documentation.
• Participate in the development and implementation of Site-Specific Safety Plans.
• Participate in project kickoff meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety meetings.
• Review client and owner safety requirements and help ensure ongoing project compliance.

Computer Skills

Candidates should be comfortable with basic computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet-based systems used for safety documentation and communication.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may regularly be required to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, climb stairs or ladders, and work on elevated platforms. The position may occasionally require lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee must also possess the vision, hearing, and manual dexterity necessary to safely perform work in an active construction environment.
