Job summary

B&D Industries, Inc. is seeking a Safety Professional to provide site safety leadership, ensure compliance with facility and corporate safety standards, and implement safety directives that improve performance across projects.

You will lead toolbox talks, deliver training, maintain OSHA training, analyze safety data, and help build a strong safety culture that protects workers and supports company goals. Travel may be required to support evolving projects.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's in Environmental Health and Safety, Business Administration, or relevant field preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct safety experience required.
  • Valid OSHA 500 or CHST certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety management of people, supplies, equipment, and B&D’s BBS program.
  • Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite, assist project management in site-specific safety plans, conduct safety orientation and training.
  • Provide safety counseling and coaching to promote safe work practices.
  • Ensure all employees have and maintain OSHA training.
  • Develop and deliver training based on analysis of employee functions.
  • Maintain monthly maintenance and reporting of BBS for company reporting.
  • Conduct toolbox talks for staff.
  • Develop, review, and update safety plans as needed.
  • Document, report, and track safety violations/incidents.
  • Conduct worksite observations and analyze safety data.
  • Maintain company and government compliance.
  • Prevent workplace hazards and develop risk management frameworks.
  • Interpret and communicate B&D policies to team members and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver presentations and engage in public-speaking situations.
  • Collaborate with team members and show initiative, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and provide strong customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Safety management of people, supplies, equipment, and B&D’s Behavior-Based Safety Program (BBS)
  • Implement and administer safety programs at each worksite, assist project management in developing site-specific safety programs, and conduct safety orientation and training
  • Provide safety counseling and coaching to employees to promote safe work practices and methods
  • Ensure all employees have and maintain OSHA training
  • Develop and deliver training based on the analysis of employee functions as needed
  • Maintain monthly maintenance and reporting of BBS for company reporting
  • Conduct toolbox talks for small to large groups of staff
  • Develop, review, and provide possible updates as needed for safety plans
  • Document, report, and track safety violations/ incidents
  • Conduct worksite observations
  • Analyze leading and trailing indicator safety data
  • Maintain company and government compliance
  • Prevent workplace health and safety hazards
  • Develop and implement frameworks for risk management
  • Interpret and communicate B&D’s policies and procedures to team members and external stakeholders
  • Deliver clear, effective presentations and engage in public-speaking situations
  • Demonstrate strong active-listening and clear communication to ensure openness to diverse perspectives and feedback

  • Physical demands include long hours of sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, climbing, and site walks
  • Job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
  • Work schedule and site hours may vary; flexibility to accommodate extended or irregular hours is required
  • This role requires flexibility to travel as needed over time in response to evolving company, project, and operational requirements
  • Other duties, activities, and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned
  • This position is contingent on passing a background check, drug test, clearance to operate a company vehicle and must hold a valid drivers license
Education and Experience
