Job summary

City of Saint Paul Public Works Department is seeking a Safety Officer to develop and oversee workplace safety programs, deliver employee safety training, and investigate accidents and hazards. This role ensures OSHA compliance while promoting a safe, healthy work environment throughout the department.

The candidate will lead safety training, analyze incidents, coordinate with state and federal agencies, and collaborate with leadership to implement preventive measures city-wide.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in safety program development and safety training.
• A master's degree in safety may substitute for two years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and employee training.
• Limited remote work with most work performed in the office.
