Job summary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Concord, MA seeks a Safety and Occupational Health Manager to ensure compliance with DoD and Army safety standards across Civil Works operations.

You will lead policy development, provide expert consultation to executive staff, and supervise accident investigations, inspections, and risk assessments. Responsibilities include directing safety programs, performing audits, coordinating emergency management support, and serving as a technical advisor for Class A/B

Qualifications

• Specialized federal experience in safety and occupational health policy and procedures.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and evaluations to identify hazards; participate in investigations and develop corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Formulate district safety policies based on DoD and Army guidance.
• Provide consultation on Safety and Occupational Health matters to executives, managers, and staff.
• Oversee safety aspects of Civil Works operations and hazardous waste activities.
• Plan and implement policies and objectives for the district Safety and Occupational Health program.
• Evaluate progress toward program objectives and initiate corrective actions.
• Organize work, set priorities, and allocate resources to meet goals.
• Manage Safety and Occupational Health support for emergency management operations.
• Conduct Safety and Occupational Health surveys, audits, and investigations.
• Serve on boards for serious accident investigations; advise on Class A/B investigations.
• Investigate employee Safety and Occupational Health complaints.
• Oversee SOH inspections for compliance with regulations.
