Professional Safety Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Utility Safety Professional to oversee the safety of overhead Distribution, overhead Transmission, and substation projects in the Northeast region of OH. Local candidates only - no per diem.

Expectations

Health and Safety Professionals at ProSafe serve in a dual role: providing expert support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels. They are also expected to be hands-on partners in delivering safety initiatives and programs that develop a safety culture supporting our goal of “making safety simple but no simpler” in all work performed by our clients.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Safety Professional on utility high voltage overhead Distribution, overhead Transmission, and substation projects.
• Local candidates in the Northeast region of Ohio. No per diem offered.
• Understanding of hazards related to Energized Work, De-Energized Work, Grounding, Backfeed, EPZ, Overhead Transmission, and Distribution Operations.
• Current CUSP and/or CHST certification is highly preferred.
• Ability to identify and communicate Critical Observable Actions for high voltage utility work.
• Ability to discuss improvement opportunities with contractor crews.
• Experience in writing high-quality observation reports on near misses and incidents.
• Research skills for contractor safety documentation and becoming a Subject Matter Expert.
• Proficiency in technical writing and reporting.
• Proficiency in Google Suites (Gmail, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
• Strong time management, punctuality, and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Knowledge of Local 47 RedBook and OSHA 1910.269 standards.
• Knowledge of CAL OSHA Title 8 High-Voltage Electrical Safety Orders.
• OSHA 30 Hour or equivalent certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in adverse conditions (dust, rain, heat, cold).
• Ability to bend and squat repeatedly.

Highly Desired, Not Required

• Journeyman Lineman with safety experience.
• Degree in Occupational Safety & Health.
