Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of field safety experience.

  • CUSP certification a plus.
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation and General Liability claim processes.
  • Able to communicate technical information to field personnel as well as executive management.
  • Demonstrated ability to review contractors health and safety plans.
  • Can react calmly in emergency situations and work effectively with other people.
  • Must be highly motivated, a self-starter and have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be available to work some weekends.
  • Must be willing to travel nationwide.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Technical efficiency & knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Will assist in the development and implementation of safety programs/safety plans.
  • Ensure all construction personnel are properly trained in company safety requirements as well as basic OSHA regulations for construction.
  • Advises management regarding regulatory compliance with environmental, safety & health standards.
  • Conducts field audits, follow-up safety and hazard inspections of construction work sites.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Assist in accident/incident investigations.
  • Makes recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and provides necessary safety training.
  • Safety training as required by position.
  • Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed.
  • Conducts inspections to ensure subcontractor compliance with safety requirements.
  • Assist the Safety Director in claim management process (WC & GL) with appropriate insurance contacts.

Job description

Summary of Position:
