Job summary

Great Southwestern Construction, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee safety programs across designated project locations in Texas.

You will partner with Operations to ensure adequate safety staffing and regulatory compliance with federal, state and local requirements, driving a culture of safety and incident prevention. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in transmission and distribution safety, plus OSHA credentials and strong leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with OSHA record keeping and MOP writing.
• Experience in job hazard & safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry.
• Experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction.
• Management experience within a safety role.
• Safety or related undergraduate degree (such as CSP).
• Safety related credentials (e.g., OSHA 501, OTI certifications, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Manage on-going safety program.
• Work with Operations to ensure proper safety staffing.
• Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations, company policy, and industry best practices.
• Audit and provide feedback, leadership, and guidance to safety engineers.
• Coordinate cross-training and conduct training as necessary.
• Assist management with methods to improve safety practices and procedures.
• Conduct and report on advance notice and no-notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations.
• Receive, review, and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports.
• Provide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors.
• Provide progress reports on safety activities, safety reports, and safety studies.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Other duties as assigned

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring employee adherence to company safety policies and procedures. This position supports projects throughout designated geographical locations.

• Salary Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
