Harlan Electric Company is seeking a Safety Manager (T&D Electrical Construction) to ensure adherence to safety policies across projects in designated locations. You will support operations, audit practices, train teams, and coordinate safety initiatives to minimize risk and incidents.

The role emphasizes leadership in safety programs, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on employee safety and collaboration with operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with OSHA record keeping and MOP writing.
• Experience in job hazard & safety analysis within T&D.
• Experience in T&D line construction.
• Management experience in a safety role.
• Safety-related degree (CSP) or equivalent.
• Safety credentials (e.g., OSHA 501, OTI).

Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing safety program and staffing with Operations.
• Ensure fieldwork compliance with regulations and policy.
• Audit and provide feedback to safety engineers.
• Coordinate cross-training and training sessions.
• Propose methods to improve safety practices.
• Conduct inspections, surveys, and evaluations.
• Review accident briefs and safety publications.
• Provide safety guidance to eliminate unsafe behavior.
• Prepare progress reports on safety activities and studies.
• Maintain attendance and compliance with Code of Conduct.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Safety Manager (T&D Electrical Construction) is responsible for ensuring employee adherence to company safety policies and procedures. This position supports projects throughout designated geographical locations.

Essential Functions

• Manage on-going safety program
  Work with Operations to ensure proper safety staffing
• Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations, company policy, and industry best practices
• Audit and provide meaningful feedback, leadership, and guidance to safety engineers
• Coordinate cross-training and conduct training as necessary
• Assist management with methods to improve safety practices and procedures
• Conduct and report on advance notice and no-notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations
• Receive, review, and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports
• Provide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors
• Provide progress reports on safety activities, safety reports, and safety studies
• Regular and predictable attendance
  Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  Understand and comply with the
• Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
• Other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

• Experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing
• Experience in job hazard & safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry
• Experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction
• Management experience within a safety role
• Safety or related technical undergraduate degree (such as CSP)
• Safety related credentials (e.g., OSHA 501, OTI certifications, etc.)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
