Job summary

MYR Group, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to enforce safety policies across a multi-state field portfolio. You will travel weekly to project sites, support operations, and drive regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and training across busy transmission and distribution projects.

The role requires safety credentials, strong communication, and proven leadership in a demanding construction environment with a focus on safety culture and incident prevention.

Qualifications

• Experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing.
• Experience in job hazard & safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry.
• Experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction.
• Safe ity role management experience and credentialing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-going safety program and ensure proper safety staffing with Operations.
• Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations and company policy.
• Audit and provide feedback, leadership, and guidance to safety engineers.
• Coordinate cross-training and conduct necessary training.
• Provide progress reports on safety activities and studies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring employee adherence to company safety policies and procedures. This position supports projects throughout designated geographical locations and will travel weekly to project locations in a 3 to 5 state territory. Home location can be anywhere as long as you are near a major airport.

Essential Functions

• Manage on-going safety program
  Work with Operations to ensure proper safety staffing
• Verify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations, company policy, and industry best practices
• Audit and provide meaningful feedback, leadership, and guidance to safety engineers
• Coordinate cross-training and conduct training as necessary
• Assist management with methods to improve safety practices and procedures
• Conduct and report on advance notice and no-notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations
• Receive, review, and participate with the development of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, and reports
• Provide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe behavior and environmental factors
• Provide progress reports on safety activities, safety reports, and safety studies
• Regular and predictable attendance
  Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  Understand and comply with the
• Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable
• Other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

• Experience with OSHA record keeping, reporting and Method of Procedure (MOP) writing
• Experience in job hazard & safety analysis within the transmission and distribution industry
• Experience in the field of transmission and distribution line construction
• Management experience within a safety role
• Safety or related technical undergraduate degree (such as CSP)
• Safety related credentials (e.g., CHST, CUSP, OSHA 501, OTI certifications, etc.) some or any combo of these certifications highly preferred

• Salary
  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
