Job summary

Covanta in the United States is seeking a Safety Manager to lead strategic and operational safety across the facility. You will manage the safety program, oversee training, and partner with plant leadership on improvements and corporate initiatives.

This role involves mentoring others and ensuring safety controls are effective on critical projects. The position requires a Bachelor's in safety/health, knowledge of OSHA standards, and 3–5 years leading safety programs, with preference for CSP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety/health or related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards.
• 3–5 years safety leadership including policy development and audits.
• 5 years occupational health and safety in a power plant or similar setting.
• CSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the facility's health and safety programs and policies.
• Monitor regulatory compliance and maintain safety records.
• Oversee safety training program and certifications.
• Manage contractor safety performance and training.
• Conduct safety reviews, incidents investigations, and root cause analyses.
• Coordinate fire system inspections and health clinic activities.
