Job summary

WeDriveU in Fresno, CA is seeking a Safety Manager to develop, oversee and enforce safety compliance for our transit program. You will strategically oversee all safety and regulatory aspects to meet client needs.

Responsibilities include designing training for transportation personnel, supervising driver trainers, handling incident reporting, and ensuring corporate safety standards. High School diploma or equivalent is required; CDL endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Some college preferred.
• Supervisory experience in transportation or training roles is desirable.
• Strong working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and transportation related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, develop and implement initial and recurrent training programs for transportation personnel.
• Supervise driver trainers, establishing objectives, standards, schedules and accountability.
• Oversee classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training for applicants and bus drivers.
• Administer and maintain the company drug/alcohol testing program.
• Develop and conduct Driver Safety Meetings and report safety metrics to the corporate office.
• Investigate and respond to safety incidents and customer service issues.

Job Description:

TheSafetyManagerwill be responsible for developing, overseeing, and enforcingsafetycompliance for our transit program. TheSafetyManagerwill strategically oversee all areas ofsafetyand compliance with respect to DOT/OSHA/CAL-OSHA regulations and prepare our workforce for our client’s needs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, design, develop and implement initial and recurrent training programs for transportation personnel
• Supervise driver trainers, by establishing objectives, standards, work schedules and accountability for job performance
• Oversee classroom instruction and behind the wheel training of applicants and bus drivers to ensure successful completion of training and testing; recommend upgrades as necessary
• Responsible for meeting all corporate reportingwith regard to safety and training
• Provide on-going training and performance evaluations for all Driver employees
• Administer and maintain Company random drug/alcohol testing and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing program in conjunction with corporate office
• Develop and conduct regularly scheduled DriverSafetyMeetings
• Assume primary responsibility in responding to personal injury and vehicle accidents by on-scene investigation and preparing and submitting reports to the corporate office in accordance with Company policy
• Investigate customer service complaints relative tosafetyissues and take appropriate corrective action
• Administer and maintain Company Safe Driver Award Program
• High School diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
• 3 years as a Trainer in transportation industry desired

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience preferred; specifically experience supervising/training a driver workforce
• Must complete company certification program.
• Equivalent work experience as a Trainer can be substituted as appropriate.
• Strong working knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.) and transportation related software
• Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and group presentation skills
• Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills
• Ability to provide direction, coaching and mentoring to employees while creating an environment that encourages and values input and feedback
• Ability to respond to unanticipated events to ensure excellence in customer service.
• Ability to Investigate claims and incidents of questionable conduct, accidents etc.
• Computer literacy skills in word processing and spreadsheets
• Active CDL with passenger endorsement (or willing/able to secure within six months)
• DOTMED card(or willing/able to secure within six months)
