Safety Manager Job Description

We are currently seeking a reliable Safety Manager for our Wilmington, NC plant. As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with approved OSHA standards, internal policies and procedures, good engineering practices, and future preventive care. You will conduct safety meetings, audits, inspections, and identify corrective measures. Additionally, maintaining a professional attitude with others and practicing an exceptional work ethic are essential.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Promote safe work practices and utilize analytical skills to ensure compliance and reduce risks.
  2. Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  3. Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  4. Conduct training and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention.
  5. Monitor compliance with policies by inspecting operations daily.
  6. Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
  7. Investigate accidents or incidents to determine causes and handle workers' compensation claims.
  8. Work a flexible schedule to adhere to production hours.
  9. Demonstrate self-motivation and be a team player.
Requirements
  • Minimum requirement: NC OSHA 30
  • Industrial/Construction experience preferred.
