Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Safety Manager in Cincinnati, OH for a 2-month contractor assignment starting ASAP. The role focuses on hands-on safety oversight across roofing, scaffolding, insulation, painting, and coatings on active commercial/industrial sites.

You will conduct site inspections, enforce OSHA rules, coordinate with management and subs, and drive hazard mitigation while supporting project productivity. This contract offers a weekly pay cycle and per diem opportunities.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 Certification is required.
  • Minimum 1+ years of construction safety experience.
  • Experience supporting roofing, scaffolding, and aerial lift operations.
  • Experience working on large commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of hazard recognition, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Ability to work extensive overtime and maintain a consistent field presence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field safety oversight for roofing, scaffold, coatings, and insulation work.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
  • Monitor roofing activities, scaffold erection and use, aerial lift operations, and coating applications.
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions.
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel.
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project.

Safety Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 2 Months (Start: ASAP / Projected Start 9/14/2026)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $48/hr
Overtime: Included in scheduled 70-hour work weeks
Per Diem: $125/day (Non-Local Candidates)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Sunday | 7 x 10-Hour Shifts | Approximately 70 Hours/Week
Additional Schedule Details: No work on rain days. Overtime available based on project needs.

  • Previous experience working with Niles Industrial or contractors who have completed prior site training
