Job summary

GCON Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager for our ground-up commercial and high-tech construction operations in Rio Rancho, NM. This onsite role focuses on hands-on leadership, safety culture, and direct engagement with project teams to drive measurable safety results.

You'll lead a team of safety specialists, manage risk, and ensure OSHA/EH&S compliance across job sites. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in safety and 5+ years in leadership, with relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EH&S, Safety Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years in safety or field operations management, with 5+ years in leadership within a structured safety program.
• CSP, ASP, or CHST certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, and construction safety regulations.
• OSHA 10/30, Dust Control 310, First aid, required. OSHA 500 preferred.
• Valid driver’s license & ability to travel to job sites.
• Ability to learn and train with technology platforms and software.

• Leadership Reporting – Keep Owners informed of safety initiatives, program performance, and areas for improvement to support continuous improvement and company-wide safety goals.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling or stretching.
• Standing/Walking/Sitting: Workday is combination of standing, walking, and sitting.
• Legs: Must be able to climb stairs.
• Hands/Arms: Constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use
• Vision: Visual acuity in near, mid, and far range. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.
• Hearing: Sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone and radio; sufficient to hear alarms on equipment.
• Speech: Sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone and radio.
• Lift/Carry: Up to 40lbs.
• Bending/Twisting: Minimal.
• Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: Minimal.
• May require travel.
• Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
