Job summary

Talently in Richmond, VA is seeking a Safety Manager - Construction to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives across multiple projects on-site, ensuring regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture.

You will develop site-specific EHS plans, mentor coordinators, investigate incidents, and deliver training to project teams, with travel to various project sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of safety coordination or related experience within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and applicable EHS regulations.
• Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training, reporting, and collaboration.
• Proven ability to investigate complex safety incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for EHS initiatives across multiple construction projects.
• Develop and refine site-specific EHS plans that meet regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
• Mentor EHS Coordinators and serve as a key resource for safety-related questions and guidance.
• Lead incident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and develop corrective action plans.
• Deliver safety training to project managers and field employees to strengthen safety awareness.
• Evaluate field operations and implement improvements that enhance safe work practices and compliance.
• Conduct routine project audits and inspections, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Perform air quality monitoring, sampling, and analysis as needed.
• Communicate safety concerns, recommendations, and solutions effectively with project and EHS teams.
