Job summary

The PENTA Building Group in California is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee safety practices on large commercial construction projects across Orange County and Los Angeles County. You will partner with project teams to promote a culture of safety and address site-specific concerns.

Candidates should have 3-7 years of Safety Manager experience, OSHA 30, and the ability to travel between multiple Southern California projects.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of Safety Manager experience on commercial construction projects.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to travel between multiple projects spanning Southern California (Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County).
• Knowledge of construction processes, practices, and procedures.
• Proven ability to adapt behavior or work methods in response to new information or conditions.
• Experience with follow-up and monitoring of work to ensure quality standards and attention to detail.
• A positive attitude and team player mindset.

Responsibilities

• Establish a company-wide culture of health and safety.
• Attend pre-construction, pre-installation, pre-mobilization, and monthly Safety Manager meetings.
• Prepare Job-Site Specific Safety Plans for each project.
• Conduct initial safety orientation training for all new field employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain documentation of safety violations, near-misses, incident reports, safety meetings, daily huddles, audits, and first aid checklists.
• Conduct field inspections and accident investigations.
• Review HAZCOM/SDS and environmental issues (SWPPP, Dust Control, BMPs).
• Monitor back-to-work policies for injured employees.
• Attend safety training classes for professional development.
• May perform other duties as assigned per Corporate Safety Handbook.

Safety Managers to join our team in Orange County and Los Angeles County, CA! The Safety Manager is accountable for overseeing the management and coordination of safety practices and procedures on large commercial construction projects. This individual will work hand in hand daily with Project Superintendents, promoting a culture of safety and addressing site-specific safety concerns. At PENTA, a Safety Manager is responsible for:

• Establishing a company-wide culture of health and safety.
• Attending pre-construction, pre-installation, pre-mobilization, and monthly Safety Manager meetings.
• Preparation of a comprehensive Job-Site Specific Safety Plan for each assigned project.
• Conducting the initial safety orientation training for all new field employees and subcontractors.
• Maintainingand collectingthe project team’s documentation of safety violations, near-miss and incident reports, accidents and injury reports, safety meetings, daily huddles, audits, fire extinguishers, and first aid checklists.
• Conducting field inspections and accident investigations.
• Reviewing andinspectingall HAZCOM/SDS.
• Reviewing environmental issues such as SWPPP, Dust Control, BMP's, toilet facilities, etc.
• Reviewing and monitoring back-to-work policies and procedures for injured employees with supervision following proper protocol.
• Attending a variety of safety training classes for the betterment of self, others,and the company.
• May perform other duties not listed here as assigned and noted in our Corporate Safety Handbook.

• Ability to travel between multiple projects spanning our Southern California region (Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County).

• Salary Range DOE $95,000 - $130,000

The PENTA Building Group maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands. The pay range may differ in other locations. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors and is in good faith and/or offer for this position.
