Job summary

WebstaurantStore is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee the health and safety program at the assigned location. This role will tacitly deploy the organization’s EHS management system and overall strategy to drive continuous improvements.

Train, develop, and empower employees to ensure high employee engagement and a positive safety culture. This position maintains extensive knowledge of operations protocols, EHS risks, and identifies areas for improved efficiencies.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of experience in safety management or related field.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams and maintain safety culture.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement and sustain company–wide EHS strategy to support the Safety Management System at assigned facilities.
• Lead incident investigations ensuring root cause and sustainable corrective action.
• Develop and administer safety initiatives, programs, and training; maintain records.
• Hold regular safety audits and inspections to ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance to management on safety matters and coordinate with the safety committee.
• Oversee environmental programs such as Hazardous Waste, Stormwater, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain high employee engagement and build a positive safety culture.

Operational

• Implement and sustain company–wide strategy to support EHS Management System, programs, goals at assigned facilities


• Manage EHS risk through proactive analysis and use of injury prevention tools. Partner with assigned facility to create/maintain written injury prevention plans necessary to drive improvements.


• Assist with the development and administration of companywide EHS initiatives, programs, and training as requested.


• Lead Incident Investigation efforts ensuring root cause and sustainable corrective action is identified.


• Maintain, develop, and update safety training programs, policies, and procedures. Provide training to employees and maintain records.


• Ensure that all work is performed according to facility safety policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.


• Complete regular inspections to ensure a hazard-free workplace and OSHA compliance (including other regulatory agencies, such as DOT, FDA, NFPA, etc.).


• Complete safety audits to ensure practices and procedures are relevant and up to date.


• Provide guidance to management on matters relating to safety.


• Lead and coordinate meetings and projects with warehouse safety committee.


• Maintain high employee engagement and build a positive employee safety culture.


• Oversee environmental programs; including but not limited to Hazardous waste, Stormwater, Tier 2 Reporting.


• Ensure the timely completion of all employee performance reviews and provide frequent and constructive feedback to all team members in accordance with the Great Employees Only philosophy.


• Interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations are followed .


• Promptly complete all admin duties relating to employee management to the expected standard .

Leadership

• Collaborate with the leadership team within the building to meet the needs of the DC and foster a team mentality.


• Communicates effectively and partners with the DCGM and Leadership team at the assignee DC.


• Creates development plans for employees to generate engagement and a leadership bench, with a focus on Team Leaders .


• Maintain a high level of integrity and honesty, embodying the core values of the company and modeling them for our employees


• Serve as a leader not only for the assigned department, but for the entire distribution center, holding peers, managers and employees accountable to expectations

Physical Requirements

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.


• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.


• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.


• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.


• Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75lbs.

Experience

• 2-5+ years of experience in safety management or related field.


• Knowledge of safety policies and OSHA regulations
