Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role.
  • Familiarity with HAZMAT and Title V regulations and OSHA rules.

  • Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices.
  • Maintain safety files and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Investigate accidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
  • Recommend solutions and preventative measures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training programs.
  • Oversee handling of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and Title V compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and external audits.

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement company safety policies and procedures in line with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices.
  • Maintain safety files and records, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims.
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training programs for employees.
  • Manage and oversee the handling of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and ensure adherence to Title V regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and manage all safety-related external audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Safety Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role.
  • In-depth knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices, including HAZMAT and Title V regulations.
  • Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
  • Demonstrable experience with writing reports and policies for health and safety.
  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
