Job description

Safety Manager

ACI is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Manager to lead the implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of our corporate safety program across office and field operations. This role is critical in fostering a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence. The Safety Manager will collaborate closely with management and field teams, ensuring that workplace safety is not only maintained but constantly enhanced.

About the Role

As Safety Manager at ACI, you will play a vital role in safeguarding our people, projects, and clients by leading and continuously improving our safety program. This position is both strategic and hands‑on—you’ll collaborate with leadership to shape safety strategy, while actively engaging with field teams to ensure safe practices are embedded in daily operations. You will be the driving force behind ensuring that safety is not only a compliance requirement but also a core part of our company culture.

Key Opportunities
  • Champion a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead training, audits, investigations, and corrective actions that improve safety performance.
  • Partner with leadership and field teams to implement effective safety solutions.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of mechanical and construction projects across the DMV.
  • Protect our people and make a tangible difference while advancing your professional growth.

We’re looking for a safety professional who is passionate about creating secure, compliant, and high‑performing work environments. You thrive on collaboration—building strong relationships with leadership and field teams to drive accountability and culture change. You bring a strategic mindset paired with practical, hands‑on experience, and you’re equally comfortable developing safety programs as you are conducting site inspections or leading investigations. Your problem‑solving skills are sharp, and you excel at root cause analysis, turning insights into actionable improvements that make a real impact. You bring at least six years of hands‑on safety experience, strong knowledge of OSHA/MOSHA and other regulatory standards, and the ability to translate requirements into practical, field‑ready solutions. With excellent communication and leadership skills, you can influence teams at all levels, investigate and resolve safety challenges, and foster a culture where safety is prioritized every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement safety programs, training, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, MOSHA, DOT, CDL, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Advise leadership on best practices and support field teams in resolving safety concerns.
  • Actively engage with job sites, leading toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety, Occupational Health, or related field (preferred).
  • 6+ years safety management experience in construction or mechanical services.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA/MOSHA, DOT, CDL, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Professional safety certifications (CSP, CIH, CHSM) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly and work hands‑on at field sites.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary + annual bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits (health, dental, retirement).
  • Up to 15 days PTO + paid company holidays.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • Collaborative, union‑powered workforce.
