Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced EHS Manager to oversee safety programs across field and facilities in Utah. You will lead audits, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOT standards.

The role also involves mentoring staff, supporting recruitment for safety roles, and promoting a culture of safety across all locations. A Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field and 5 years of safety leadership experience are required; CPR/First Aid and OSHA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Environmental Applied Sciences or related discipline required.
  • 5 years’ experience in Safety, including leadership experience.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred.
  • OSHA 10hr, OSHA 30hr, OSHA 40hr training preferred.
  • OSHA 500, CHST or ASP certifications preferred.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety laws and regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOT standards.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and coordinates safety activities for the assigned safety team to ensure all safety requirements are met in the field/facilities.
  • Conducts safety audits and inspections and recommends corrections for compliance with regulatory, company and owner requirements.
  • Develops reports and presentations for safety briefings with company management.
  • Provides strategic direction on initiatives to improve Environmental, Health and Safety performance by minimizing risks and liabilities.
  • Oversees programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Guides departmental processes and activities including compliance with safety regulations and investigation of accidents.
  • Provides leadership and recommendations for the design, implementation, and administration of safety initiatives, policies, procedures and processes.
  • Provides performance coaching and feedback for direct reports and participates in annual performance process.
  • Participates in recruitment and hiring for safety roles.

Qualifications
