Qualifications

• 3-5 years in construction safety / heavy highway civil.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, MUTCD (600 Index).
• Ability to teach OSHA 10/30 courses.
• Excellent communicator, trainer, and field partner.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 / 1910, DOT, FMCSA, and MUTCD standards.
• Represent the company during inspections and audits.
• Lead new hire orientations and maintain the safety training matrix.
• Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks, on-site audits, and safety briefings.
• Manage and grow the behavior-based safety program.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses using root cause analysis.
• Travel to remote job sites and perform monthly safety inspections.
• Maintain programs for HAZCOM, emergency planning, and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and support the Return to Work program.
• Use telematics systems and safety apps to track behavior, inspections, and compliance (e.g., Samsara, iAuditor, etc.).
• Maintain accurate safety records and communication logs with agencies.
