  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel to multiple job sites.

Safety Manager

Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing workplace health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role promotes a culture of safety throughout the organization, reduces workplace risks, and ensures employees maintain safe work practices at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections, audits, and safety assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Travel to company job sites and project locations to monitor safety compliance and verify that employees are wearing and utilizing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Provide safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing education for employees and supervisors.
  • Investigate accidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage incidents and prepare detailed reports with corrective action recommendations.
  • Respond immediately to any jobsite incidents, accidents, or safety-related emergencies and coordinate appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incident reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Work closely with management and field personnel to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Monitor subcontractor and vendor compliance with company safety requirements.
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs and assist with workers' compensation claims as needed.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting workplace safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience in workplace safety, construction, manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within a specified period after hire.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Willingness to learn safety regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to travel regularly to multiple job sites.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk active job sites, climb stairs and ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and perform site inspections in industrial, construction, or field environments.
  • Ability to travel frequently to project locations and respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours when necessary.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to active job sites and field locations. The Safety Manager must be available to respond to workplace incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns as they arise. Work may be performed in office, construction, industrial, and outdoor environments.
