Job summary

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA) and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver safety education and training programs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate employees to follow safety policies.
• Evidence of critical thinking and problem-solving in safety contexts.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and capability to coach supervisors and managers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety education training programs within the plant environment.
• Maintain and update safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and policies.
• Partner with manufacturing managers to review and improve safety practices and ensure adoption by employees.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulations, and reporting in manufacturing.
• Perform hazard risk assessments and develop risk prevention plans.
• Review accident/injury reports and data, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
• Coordinate with workers compensation and general liability insurance representatives for compliance.
• Assist in administration of safety incentive programs and monitoring participation.
• Manage environmental compliance (e.g., air permits, water runoff).
• Promote an organizational culture of safe practices through leadership and training.
