Job summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, seeks a dynamic Safety Intern to support the Plant Human Resources Team in Denton, TX. The role offers 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM hours and runs through December 2026, with both full-time or part-time options.

The intern will assist with hazard assessments, training, incident documentation, and safety program improvements while rotating through production departments. Strong communication and analytical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be enrolled in a HR, business, or related program and have completed sophomore year.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Able to manage multiple tasks effectively and work with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job hazard and risk assessment activities.
• Help develop electronic forms and tracking systems for inspections.
• Support benchmarking and gap analysis for ISO 45001:2018 readiness.
• Help develop and update training curriculum.
• Rotate through plant production departments to gain exposure.
• Assist with incident documentation, investigations, and root-cause analysis.
• Participate in JHAs, risk assessments, and safe-work planning initiatives.
• Support reinforcement of a behavior-based safety culture.
• Other tasks as assigned.
