Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Counce, TN mill intern in Occupational Health and Safety for summer 2027. You will develop and implement accident prevention programs, conduct site safety audits, and work with a CSP and the Safety team to drive compliance and improvements.

You will interact with engineers and operators to analyze situations, create recommendations, and help present safety topics to audiences across the organization.

Qualifications

• Must have completed 2 years of course work with a 3.0 GPA towards a BA/BS degree majoring in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Permanent U.S. resident required.
• Preference for students interviewing through university career fairs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site safety audits and make recommendations for compliance with regulations pertaining to occupational and environmental safety, health and fire prevention.
• Evaluate, anticipate and implement controls for risk reduction and accident prevention.
• Work with CSP and Safety team to implement control measures and communicate with employees.
• Interact with engineers and operators to understand work practices and present findings.
