Turner Construction Company is offering a seasonal internship in Environmental Health and Safety in Cincinnati. The intern will assist in safety and loss control activities on construction projects and will work closely with supervisors to promote safe work practices.
Key responsibilities include implementing safety programs, identifying safety violations, and coordinating safety meetings. Candidates should be actively pursuing a degree in a related field and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Assist in activities associated with safety and loss control while working on construction project or office location.

Performance of the required duties requires physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, use passenger construction personnel hoists, climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands, talk, and hear. The employee frequently views a computer monitor and frequently uses an instrument. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to be mobile; the employee occasionally travels both short and long distances via a variety of conveyances. The employee occasionally performs work on‑site at construction work sites, office locations, and/or off‑site venues. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The noise in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in an office setting. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
Interns are eligible to accrue sick/wellness time at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with usage available after 90 days of employment. Medical coverage may also be elected at the employee’s full cost.
