Job Summary

By joining our BV Construction group, you will develop and enhance your skills in an on-site, hands-on environment. Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start-up, decommissioning, and field engineering.

This is a mid-level project position responsible for implementing and maintaining the Company's Safety and Health Procedures on a larger, moderately complex project. The role involves performing medium to high complexity tasks and may include supervising other safety and health professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, administer, and maintain the project Drug and Alcohol Substance Abuse Program.
  • Develop and conduct employee safety and health training programs.
  • Conduct detailed site safety and health inspections.
  • Manage project security contracts, programs, and policies.
  • Perform record-keeping and incident investigations.
  • Write detailed injury/illness reports.
  • Complete safety and health program documentation.
  • Interface with clients and government officials.
  • Manage contractor safety and health programs.
  • Administer workers' compensation programs.
  • May act as Safety and Health Consultant and on-site medical provider.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate direct reports.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications

At least 5+ years of safety and health experience. Ability to complete pre-employment requirements such as background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, as per applicable laws.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Safety and health certification; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in a construction environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, company policies, workers' compensation, construction contracting, and consulting capabilities.
  • Ability to perform first aid/medical functions, communicate effectively, and use Word and Excel.
  • Strong report writing, human relations, conflict management, and client interface skills.
Certifications

First Aid, CPR, Drug testing certified, OSHA 500/501, Safety and Health Program Administration, OSHA 10-hour.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined or uneven spaces, working at heights, and enduring temperature extremes. The work environment varies from construction sites to office settings, with exposure to noise, hazardous equipment, and weather conditions. This position is safety-sensitive.
