Position Summary:

As a Safety, Health & Environmental leader, you will be responsible for championing the SH&E function for a high-volume packaging operation. This is a key position on the Site Leadership Team in the Safety, Health & Environmental Sustainability area. The primary objective is to protect and improve employee safety and site environmental sustainability through prevention, fostering a culture of caring where safety, health, and environmental sustainability are core values.

Responsibilities include supporting the facilities via hands-on counsel, supervision, assessment, and implementation of:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Site SH&E Culture - Actively participate in the Site Leadership Team and effectively lead, coach, and develop managers and line leaders to be effective SH&E leaders.
  2. SH&E Performance - Collaborate with site leadership to develop SH&E priorities, drivers, activities, and KPIs to improve performance.
  3. Compliance - Ensure continuous audit readiness and compliance with company policies and external regulations.
  4. Strategies, Programs, and Plans - Develop best-in-class SH&E programs, systems, and procedures, including training and mentoring.
  5. Risk Assessment and Elimination - Lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts, ensuring hazards are identified and communicated.
  6. Incident Investigation - Oversee investigation of SH&E incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
  7. Injury and Case Management - Ensure effective injury case management and recurrence prevention.
  8. Capability Building - Develop SH&E talent through coaching, feedback, and training.
  9. Technical Support - Provide expertise and support for SH&E initiatives and compliance.

Experience & Education Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in a scientific, engineering, or SH&E-related field, or significant professional experience.
  2. At least 5 years in SH&E roles, with recent experience as a site SH&E leader in manufacturing or production.
  3. Certifications such as CSP, CIH, OHST, NEBOSH are beneficial.
  4. Knowledge of ISO 14001 & 45001, LEAN, TPM, OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
  5. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficiency with Windows applications and other software.
