Advantage Behavioral Health Systems in Athens, GA is seeking a full-time Security Guard for the 3:00 PM–11:30 PM shift to protect clients, staff and visitors. You will monitor entrances and assist with wanding and storing belongings at entry points.

Under supervision of the Lead Safety Guard, you will support the Crisis Walk-in and Crisis Stabilization units, help de-escalate when needed, and document important events in the Daily Action Log to ensure smooth shift changes and ongoing safety.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Preferred security experience.
  • Preferred CPI training.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor premises to ensure safety for clients, staff and visitors.
  • Assist with wanding and storing belongings upon entry.
  • Support Crisis Walk-in and Crisis Stabilization units as needed.
  • De-escalate situations as part of the response team.
  • Document important information in the Daily Action Log for shift changes.

Position Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3p-11:30pPosition Summary:Under the supervision of the Lead Safety Guard, the safety guards within the BHCC provide persons, families, or vulnerable populations with support needed to cope with chronic, acute, or terminal illnesses, physical or developmental disabilities. The role of this position is to ensure the safety of all clients, staff and visitors to the BHCC.Duties and ResponsibilityProvide support to the Crisis Walk in by maintaining presence in the area while also assisting with wanding and storing clients/visitors belongings upon entering building.Provide support to the Crisis Stabilization unit by maintaining presence in the area while also assisting with any needs of the unit, including assistance with de-escalation of clients as a part of the response team, if indicated.Monitor premises to ensure there are no safety concerns.Document any important information, incidents or items to be aware of in the Daily Action Log, to ensure proper shift change report.Professional Development:Participates in internal and external educational programs and professional meetings as available for continuing professional educationEnsures Adherence to Program Guidelines/Requirements/Expectations:Demonstrates a diverse knowledge of rules, regulations that govern the agency. Stays current on updates/changes in regulations and requirements of DBHDD and other overseers of services.Ensures ongoing adherence to all agency policies.Customer Service:Represents the agency and program in an informed and courteous manner with all external contacts and community linkagesMaintains professional behavior when completing tasks and interacting with others as a team memberCommunicates effectively and collaboratively with others to obtain informationPromotes customer satisfaction and assists with resolving grievances, complaints and inquiriesWorks with BHCC staff in a team approachOther duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High School DiplomaPreferred Qualifications:Previous security experiencePrevious CPI training experiencePhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
