Job summary

California Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero is seeking a permanent, full-time Psychiatric Technician (Safety) to join the ASH unit. The incumbent will work under supervision and lead by senior staff to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment while applying TIC and therapeutic strategies.

Duties include supervising patient activities, handling custody tasks, monitoring for risks of escape, and administering medications with careful documentation.

Qualifications

• Eligibility: reachable on a certification list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Create a clean, safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
