Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Safety Specialist to oversee field safety programs for construction operations in Boulder, CO. The role focuses on implementing safety processes, coaching crews, and leading incident investigations on site.

You will promote a culture of continuous safety improvement, ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies, and collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in safety-related roles.
• Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, CHST or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and ensure adherence to all safety processes and procedures on construction sites.
• Engage directly with field teams to enforce safety programs (LOTO, Hot Work Permitting, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Safe Job Planning).
• Mentor field personnel on safe work practices in alignment with safety programs and industry best practices.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions or behaviors observed in the field.
• Escalate safety issues and report unsafe practices through proper channels.
• Collaborate with site and project personnel to investigate safety incidents.
• Actively participate in safety improvement initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5-years of experience preferred in safety-related roles, including oversight or management of safety programs.
• Safety certifications or formal safety training are preferred (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, or equivalent).
