POSITION: Safety & Facilities Coordinator
REPORTING TO: Facilities Manager
LOCATION: Westborough, MA.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Safety & Facilities Coordinator supports day-to-day facilities operations while overseeing execution of company-wide safety compliance programs. This role ensures OSHA-required training compliance, maintains safety documentation, coordinates inspections, and supports regulatory readiness across the company. The position blends hands‑on facilities coordination with structured safety administration and compliance tracking.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety & Compliance (expanded focus area of responsibilities)

• Manage and track OSHA-required safety training for all employees (online and in-person)
• Maintain and update company training matrix
• Coordinate in-person safety training sessions (scheduling, attendance records, documentation)
• Administer training compliance through KnowBe4 platform in coordination with IT
• Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation and accessibility
• Conduct and document monthly safety inspections (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting, etc.)
• Assist in audit preparation and regulatory inspections
• Maintain organized safety records for compliance and reporting
• Serve as operational liaison to external safety consultants
• Support incident documentation and corrective action tracking (as needed)

Facilities Coordination (ongoing responsibilities)

• Coordinate vendor access and service scheduling
• Support preventive maintenance programs
• Track facility service records and maintenance logs
• Assist with space planning and operational logistics
• Support infrastructure projects assigned
• Respond to building-related issues and coordinate resolution
• Maintain facility compliance documentation (as applicable)

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Kopin is a defense contractor and is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position.
• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Wastewater Class 1-2 training operator’s license preferred or ability to obtain license within 12 months at Kopin’s expense
• 3+ years of facilities or operations experience
• Working knowledge of OSHA compliance principles (preferred)
• OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Monthly safety inspections completed and documented on schedule
• Audit-ready documentation maintained at all times
• Timely coordination of required safety sessions
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Collaboratively works with Safety Director, IT and external consultants
• Manage compliance tracking for approximately 150+ employees
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and training platforms (willingness to learn new platforms i.e. KnowBe4 experience a plus)
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with building systems, BAS, electrical and mechanical equipment
  preferred.
• Ability to read basic one-lines, and schematics
• Perform basic hands‑on facility maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to rotate from sitting to standing, lift to 50 pounds, must be comfortable and able to work on a ladder of 20 feet, gown according to clean room protocol, color vision, hearing, push minimum of 100 pounds, bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, crawling, ascending and descending stairs, climbing, and walking
• Requires standing and walking up to 80% of day
• Required to work outside at times and may be exposed to cold, hot, and inclement weather

**The hiring salary range for this position is $30.00 to $38.00 per hour**
